Euro-sleaze film is much better than its should be (though I doubt you'll ever find it in English)

In these "enlightened times" I'm hard pressed to know if one should admit to having seen this movie, but considering that its actually a pretty good erotic sleaze film, I'll happily say I saw it.

The plot is told mostly in flashback. It begins with a young girl seeing her mom have (simulated) sex with a dog. Dad comes home drags mom and the girl away and then sets fire to the house with the dog inside. The film then jumps forward as we watch a man waiting for something. The story then flashes back as we see the man and his wife arrive at an island full of party people. Periodically the man and woman catch sight of a young woman with a dog. The woman looks like a younger version of the woman at the start. I'll leave it for adventurous film goers to unravel what happens next, though I will say while its often sexy it all ends badly.

Despite this film being in Italian, a language I don't speak, I rather enjoyed this movie. Sure its sleazy but at the same time it seems to be a well done drama with an "off-beat" edge. I had no problems following the plot. I liked that after the opening you were very much of balance wondering what sort of madness was going to show up. Granted its a cheap trick but it did help to keep things properly tense.

Obviously this is NOT for all tastes. I think most people will have shut it off during the opening credits. If you can get past them and don't mind sleazy sexy drama I think you'll enjoy this, on some level, if you're open to it...

...Just don't look for an English version of this film. I can't imagine anyone being bold enough to attempt to release this in either England or the US, its opening is just a bit too much for most people.

    Much better than expectations

On a remote island a young girl sees her mother having sex with a dog. The father interrupts, ties the dog to furniture, sets the house a fire then they leave. Years later, a couple comes to the island where a few other tourists are and soon meets the girl who has grown up a few years.

First, the main premise is about the dog. A YouTuber had posted (which was repeated by others) that the sex with the dog was real. Complete BS. Second, it actually is a very small part of the movie.

The main focus of the film is on the couple, an architect who is scoping out the island for construction and his wife who after ten years of marriage wants nothing more than a child. Plus in a small group of the eclectic tourists or locals the couple socializes with. Add in later as the couple gets friendly with the young girl.

The story is well made and gets more complex as it goes along. We get to learn about everyone on the island a little at a time. Most characters are multidimensional which kept it interesting. There is nudity. Not a lot, but not a little. Some what I thought were non-erotic sex scenes, none of which were explicit.

My expectations were to be mainly bored. This story would actually hold up on its own even without the dog or sex scenes. Decent movie to watch.

Fantasy Island if made for swingers-minus a midget but plus a rottweiler

What can you say about this,,,its about the most sleazy film ever made,1st off don't forget its all simulated so don't be going all save the animals on it,,still I very much doubt it'll be coming to a videostore near you soon, the only directors who come close to this in the pure exploitation stakes are Renato Polselli and Andrea Bianchi.

The film starts in pure trashy 70's Italian sleaze top gear, with a woman being watched by her daughter having (I must say again thank heavens its simulated) sex with a rottweiler, she gets interrupted by her husband who ties the dog up and sets fire to the house with the dog inside, this all before the titles have finished,,move forward a bit in time,,,,and a set of mid life crises hit swingers move near said area and end up in a relationship with the daughter who's now a little bit older,,,from then on the sleaze really kicks in,,i don't wanna totally give away spoilers so I'll leave it at that,it all ends bloody which you can always be sure the Italian gaillo films will, fans of euro sleaze will i'm sure be happy with this film which I gave a 9-10 for sleaze content and a pretty fair 5 for the film itself,,,happy hunting folks

    Pimp-a-riffic

This movie was a classic slice of cheese that I previously thought could never be made. Keep in mind that there is no actual "illegal" activity in this movie, however the blatant illusion of it is enough to make anyone want to take a shower after watching.

For fans of Euro-sleaze, Joe D'amato and other purveyors of cheap thrills, do yourself a favor and track it down. Keep in mind that there may be various prints of this floating around, but if you get one that's listed as WIDESCREEN, you should be OK. There are also no known English subs for this, but take it from me, you don't need to understand what is going on to be able to enjoy the tasteless treats that await you.

This movie is truly one in a million.

    Attica! Attica! No...wait

Err, so this one is a bit dodgy to say the least. Not graphically so or I wouldn't have watched it, but it still, err, is a story about someone shagging a dog. Hmm.

You see, there's this girl Janine who witnesses her mother getting it on with a dog. Her dad arrives and understandably goes mental and burns down the house with the dog still in it. Years later, a bunch of couples head for the island this took place and thankfully for most of the film we get an Intterrabang type film by which I mean a psychological giallo where there's no murderer. You know things are heading for some weird conclusion though - let's look at this band of jerks.

The main focus is on Paul and Yvette who are on the island for business purposes, but also to spice up their love life with a bit of a threesome. Paul is immediately taken in by the young girl standing on the cliffs with a dog, to the point where the boat he's on strikes some rocks and he and Yvette have to spend the night in the cave of weird fisherman Enrico Maria Salerno. Also on the island is a sleazy old man (Balbo), a Swedish girl who often disrobes, and Paul Muller as a God-fearing madman to round out the ranks of people you won't care about.

Basically, there's a whole mystery surrounding the girl, her dog, and the burned out house. At least to Paul and Yvette there's a mystery, because we already know who she is and what she's going to do because this is an Italian film. The couple take in Yvette and a three way naked filthy squeezy happens while the dog howls outside. I bored talking about this one now.

I'm not sure of the point of this one. I guess you get some nudity, but not that great a deal. Is it art or is it sleaze? What does it all mean? Did the mean for the bit with the dog at the end to be so goofy and funny looking? Was it in fact a religious allegory? What made Enrico Salerno sign up for this crap?

When the film was released in Italy in November 1976, Franca Stoppi was condemned for immoral acts by a Roman judge because of the opening scene where the actress has (simulated) sex with a dog.
