Ingrid Pitt in Nobody Ordered Love (1972)

Nobody Ordered Love

Modifica
This film is believed to be lost.
Star Ingrid Pitt talked about this film during an interview in 2000. She felt it was some of her best acting and hoped it will turn up one day. "What happened to the film is a mystery," she said. "Bit like what happened to the edited outtakes with me in them from The Wicker Man. It seems that the producer had a row with the distributor and went off in a huff with the film under his arm. He married a Yankee lady and promptly died. Said Yankee Lady sold the house and left the tins of film in the garage. That's one version of the story anyway. There are others."
Around 2012, a copy of the film's script was given to the BFI by an anonymous collector. The screenplay included the scripts for both the film itself and the fictional film whose production it depicts. But the film itself is still missing.
This is now considered a lost film and is on the BFI 75 Most Wanted. No moving pictures remain, only black and white stills.
According to reports, director Robert Hartford-Davis, one of the most prolific directors in British exploitation cinema, likely intended the film to be an exposé of the workings of the genre, particularly as the cast consists largely of genre veterans. Unfortunately, the film was given very little promotion by the studio and was ultimately panned by critics, many of them criticising Hartford-Davis' direction. Many believe this is why Hartford-Davis took the film so it couldn't be released.
