After Wile E. Coyote takes his Acme Super Leg Muscle Supplement, he takes off in a blaze of fire. The road runner leaves smoke, the coyote leaves fire. The sounds for this fire effect, done by sound genius Treg Brown, were made using an old flame thrower, a motorcycle clip, and sounds from the airplanes in Dawn Patrol, all sped up a bit.

The background flora shown include the Saguaro cactus and what appears to be a type of Yucca. Both are common in deserts in the Southwest U.S., though the Saguaro is more specific to the Sonoran desert while varieties of the Yucca live in many places.

According to the cartoon's cue sheet, "O Bury Me Not On the Lone Prairie" was supposed to play in the beginning scenes, but the final cartoon uses a similar-sounding melody instead.

This is one of only a few Road Runner cartoons not to use the sound of a declining whistle, usually heard after Wile E. Coyote falls off a cliff.

Later in the short, the characters speed by a Joshua tree. A relative of the lily plant (and not really a tree), it is native to the Mojave desert.
