This film introduced Kimbbo the Chimp, a sidekick for Johnny Sheffield who would serve the same function in the Bomba franchise as Cheetah the Chimp served in the Tarzan films.

The headquarters of Monogram Pictres, the company that made the Bomba movies, was on Sunset Boulevard, and was one of the few flm companies actually located in Hollywood proper. In the years since Monogram folded, the property was sold to KCET (the PBS station for Los Angeles) and is now owned by the Church of Scientology.
