Recensioni in evidenza
This western looks a lot like the man from utah with john wayne released in 1934... anyway hoot gibson did his usual credible job as a cowboy and the bad guys went to jail ... good triumphs over evil ... these weren't big budget westerns but they kept me entertained at the double matinee on saturdats for 25 cents
Someone tries to kill Ed Cassidy at the rodeo, so he hires Hoot Gibson. There's a long-running feud between his outfit and Bob Kortman's which is boiling over with rustled cattle. Cassidy's convinced that Kortman has a spy among his hands. He wants Gibson to spy on Kortman's outfit. Someone takes another shot at Cassidy in town. And what is the secret that crazy old Nelson McDowall has that he's concealed even from his niece, Joan Barclay.
It's not a particularly distinguished movie for Hoot, even though he fills his role with his self-deprecating charm. Carl Himm's editing goes a long way towards keeping Harry Fraser's picture moving, even though the performances are too broad and the plot deliberately obscured. Gibson was still the star of the Saturday matinees, but he would only make another couple of movies and then take a six-year break from the pictures.
