In the show, Charlie Manx's appearance only rotates between 5 different ages. They are approximately 40yrs old, 65yrs old, 80yrs old, 100yrs old & 135yrs old. The different ages illustrate how long it's been since he "fed" on a child. If he's young, he has just "fed" on a child's health or hasn't used his powers much. If he's old, it's been awhile since he has "fed" on a child or he's been using his powers a great deal.

On the show Vic rides a red motorcycle, but in the book the series is based on, Vic rides a Raleigh Tuff Burner bicycle. The bicycle acts like her "knife" to enter her "inscape" & use "The Shorter Way." Vic doesn't get a motorcycle until she loses her bicycle as an adult. Eventually, Vic comes across a worn, beaten up, 1968 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle, which she cleans up, repairs & rides to enter her "inscape."
