Como la espuma

Like most movies centered on orgies, Foam Party is about relationships. With so many main characters, it does well to concentrate on three or four pairs of people, with others, less fully fleshed out, linking events or providing breaks from the main plots. As the movie begins, we learn that various characters have been dumped, are unsatisfied, or are questioning their orientation. There's a virgin, one person is uncomfortable with explicit language, another is seeking revenge, and so on. Providing contrast, background characters seem to be having a fine old time with no holds barred.

Some especially diverse scenes of gay male sex, although not exposing private parts other than butts, will make some of us uncomfortable. But that was adequately acknowledged within the film, by the widely ranging degrees of comfort of the folks at the party, gay or straight, male or female. Finding one's own comfort zone while expanding horizons is a large part of what this movie is about. People looking for nudity won't find much here, but there is a smorgasbord of simulated sex.

Although the acting is fine and the characters are believable, Foam Party tries to do too much too fast. The characters faced problems or doubts too substantial to be resolved so quickly, over the course of a party lasting only one day. It's mostly a happy movie. Call it a middle of the road medley of romance stories, neither horrible nor great.

A luxurious mansion, a "Casoplon" is the place where a lot of youngsters reunite for an orgy, and the one hand, some of them make love and the other hand, others discover and eventually encuenter possibility to love, but the sex party turns more and more nutty . The wild party is organized by Gus : Nacho San José, Milo's friend : Carlo D'Ursi also film producer, who makes it to celebrate his birthday. The mansion owner is Milo who suffers paraplegia for a car crash, that's why he goes on really traumatized , and he inherited the big mansion from his deceased grandfather. Gus calls his transsexual friend Camille :Javier Ballesteros . The latter asking for making a party other friends, and they join at the mansion of 13 bathrooms , resulting in an orgy plenty of youngsters. There comes several youth people, finding themselves love, sex, and human relationships. Among the assistants there are various queers, weird, outcasts, a timid unexperimented young girl : Sara Salamo, a mature : Elisa Matilla searching for love, a pregnant, a couple in crisis, a gigolo, and one virgin teen . Many of them have sex, but others develop real loving feelings. Along the way some lovely couples are forming themselves and begining to have peculiar feelings each other.

This is a dramedy dealing with a group of people get together to celebrate a sex orgy in indiscriminated way . However, the film is more a drama about social relationships than a comedy with a few hilarious touches. Various love stories and romances are interwoven, and focusing on fouth particular couples. The film has a lot of simulated sex, as male as female couples, gay male sex scenes, voyeurism , but little nudism, no exposing foreground of private parts, though being briefly shown some tits, dicks and buttocks . There are several motley roles, many of them underdogs , weird or traumatized, such as Milo who is still affected for a car accident, being a paraplegic in wheechair who is really angry to be aware about the wild party at home organized by Gus, however, Milo, eventually, finds an old flame, his former love of the High School . Elsa is a young shy girl searching a true love but she comes across Jorge, a young boy more experimented in sex and life. The sympathetic and friendly transsexual Camille who unexpectedly falls in love as well. A thirty and some year marriage in crisis attempting to retrieve their lost love and old passion, bedides a virginal adolescent who finally make love and many others.

The picture was regularly directed by Roberto Pérez Toledo. He has directed a lot of Shorts and a few films such as : Amigos Raros, Al final todos mueren , 6 puntos sobre Emma and this Como la espuma. Rating 4/10. It results a be a mediocre film, with no much interest, extremely talking and really boring.
