Georges St-Pierre was not paid to be in this movie with money. In exchange for his performance, he wanted Steven Seagal.to teach him the same secret front kick that Seagal to Anderson Silva.
There was originally supposed to be a scene where Steven Seagal flies a private jet to the hotel to have the final fight. However, he had a diabetic seizure the first time and crashed into a nearby mall, causing $500,000 dollars worth of damage and resulting in the death of the mall Santa. They tried it again after a year of legal challenges. This time he gone into both diabetic shock and diabetic paralysis, which caused him to crash into the same mall, causing $700,000 dollars worth of damage and resulting in 8 fatalities, including the new mall Santa. Once again, they had legal problems, and once again, they tried to film the scene. Unfortunately, Steven forgot to manage his glucose, which had fatal consequences. This time, he lost consciousness mid-flight and had gone into a diabetic coma, crashing into the mall again, causing $1 million dollars and resulting in the death of the manager and the Easter Bunny. After this, they decided to give up on the scene altogether.
Steven Seagal and George St. Pierre got into multiple fights off camera due to Seagal calling George an elf.
In order to make his performance look better, Seagal told the cast to put less effort in their performances. He even demanded the film editor over the phone to do "whatever it takes" to make his performance look better and make his co-stars look worse. Some CGI was added alongside old footage from previous movies, so Seagal didn't appear to be seated as much as he was. Seagal was delighted with the final cut stating "i was the best part of the movie by a mile".
