Three parts of the movie parallel the first episode "Friendship is Magic". First, Human Twilight calls out to Spike exactly the same way Pony Twilight did, even knocking him with the door as it swings open. Second, Sweetie Drops waves to Human Twilight (thinking she's Pony Twilight) only to be ignored, like how Lyra Heartstrings did when Pony Twilight ran past. Third, Human Twilight decides to transfer to Canterlot High like how Pony Twilight decides to stay in Ponyville.
First time in which the theme from My Little Pony is not used in any way.
This is the final time in the Equestria Girls franchise that Princess Twilight Sparkle visits the human world, before her role is given to her human counterpart.
