What Do We Want? Whilst rambling to my younger brother about how disappointed I was with this year’s slate of remakes, he cut through my outrage with one simple question that’s been rattling around in my head ever since. I had just finished laying into ‘Lilo and Stitch’- the remake- for screwing up the one thing that made the original feel sacred. That line, the line everyone remembers: “Ohana means family. According to the early estimates in Sacnilk, on its 18th day, the Dhanush and Nagarjuna starrer earned 22 lakhs when it came to the day-wise collection. This was a drop of around 38% from its third Friday wherein it had amassed 36 lakh. Overall, the 18-day collection at the Indian box office stands at 87.02 crore.

The movie has also succumbed to the new Telugu releases which has increased the competition at the box office. Kuberaa is currently the fourth highest grossing Tollywood film of 2025 at the Indian box office.

The movie was first released over Memorial Day weekend and earned the holiday's biggest opening with an impressive $182.6 million. To date, it has earned over $914 million worldwide.

The new Lilo & Stitch largely follows the same story as the 2002 original, tracking the unconventional friendship between Stitch (Chris Sanders), a wild alien, and Lilo (Maia Kealoha), a lonely young Hawaiian girl.
