Street Fighter BTS Photos Reveal First Look At Orville Peck As Vega; New Glimpse Of Noah Centineo As Ken
Image
Following a silhouetted tease of current WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes' video game-accurate look as Guile and a first glimpse of Noah Centineo (Black Adam) suited-up as Ken Masters, we have some new behind-the-scenes photos and video from the set of the Street Fighter reboot.

The photos feature a number of cast members, including Callina Liang (Chun-Li), Andrew Koji (Ryu), and Andrew Schulz (Dan Hibiki), but Orville Peck appears to be the only one in-costume as the villainous Vega.

The South African musician has Vega's blonde hair and signature snake tattoo, but there's a good chance this isn't the mask he'll wear as the character, since Peck is known for covering his face in public.

Street Fighter: First Glimpse At WWE's Cody Rhodes Rocking Guile's Video Game-Accurate Haircut
Image
WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes will play Guile in the upcoming Street Fighter reboot, and we now have our first shadowy glimpse (via GameFragger.com) at the current Undisputed WWE Champion as the iconic video game character.

The American Nightmare was recently written off television for a few weeks after being attacked by Drew McIntyre on SmackDown. That's allowed Rhodes to shoot his role in the movie, and this behind-the-scenes photo confirms he'll be rocking Guile's iconic haircut.

It's not a particularly realistic hairstyle, but props to this movie for embracing what we've seen in this video game franchise over nearly four decades. As for Rhodes, he may be best known for his in-ring work, but the fan-favourite former Aew star also has his fair share of acting experience after appearing in Arrow, Warehouse 13, and The Naked Gun.

Get a tease of Cody Rhodes’ glorious hair as Guile in the new Street Fighter movie
Funnily enough, although the 1994 Street Fighter movie would sport some pretty iconic character designs like Blanka’s green skin and orange hair or M. Bison’s full red leather suit with cape, it was still grounded in most areas and even Colonel Guile’s signature wide flat top was downgraded to Van Damme sort of spiking up his hair. It still made sense, and it’s hard to find purists who specifically demanded Guile’s hair to resemble the source material, but the upcoming Street Fighter adaptation looks to be a whole new ballgame.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li would try hard to make the video game even more grounded with very little resembling the game, but we now have a sneak peek at what WWE superstar Cody Rhodes will look like as the character, courtesy of Andrew Schulz on Instagram (by way of WrestlePurists on X). The live-action Street Fighter movie is still in development, though fans will need to wait longer to see it. Legendary Entertainment is producing the project, and Sony Pictures will handle distribution. The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai, who joined after some changes behind the scenes.

Street Fighter is based on Capcom’s world-famous fighting game series. Legendary announced back in April 2023 that they had secured the film and TV rights. At first, YouTube creators Danny and Michael Philippou, also known as RackaRacka, were in talks to direct.

They later stepped away to work on another film, and in September 2024 Sakurai was officially confirmed as the new director. The movie was once scheduled for March 20, 2026, but in March 2025 it was taken off the release calendar and delayed without a new date.

The cast is full of big names. Andrew Koji will play Ryu, while Noah Centineo is set as Ken Masters.

Image
Fans have been waiting decades for a new live-action ‘Street Fighter’ adaptation since the 1994 camp cult classic, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raúl Juliá, Kylie Minogue, and Ming-Na Wen. Now, after more than two years in development, a new film is finally in the works.

The Street Fighter casting is using a brilliant formula to pick performers
Image
The Street Fighter project has begun casting, and you’ll see people being cast with a short list of credits on their IMDb pages or lack roles in action projects. That’s a good thing. It leaves fans of the game with fewer expectations since they don’t have much to go on. Granted, actors like Jason Momoa are established in their fields. That means you know what you're getting from them. Meanwhile, the others are still up in the air.

Coming up are the people cast in Street Fighter, who they’re playing, and whether or not they were good choices. Let’s start with the Otc (Original Tribal Chief).

Street Fighter: WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes Reportedly In Talks To Play Guile
Image
It seems the upcoming Street Fighter movie could end up featuring (at least) two WWE Superstars.

Following yesterday's news that David Dastmalchian has joined the cast of Legendary's live-action video game adaptation as the villainous M. Bison, we're hearing that another key role may have been filled, with Nexus Point News reporting that Cody Rhodes is now in talks to play Guile.

Known for his signature flat-top haircut and Sonic Boom projectile, William Guile debuted as one of the original eight World Warriors in 1991's Street Fighter II. The tough, no-nonsense US Air Force Colonel made it his mission to take down Bison and his Shadaloo criminal empire following the death of his friend, Charlie Nash.

Guile was played by Jean-Claude Van Damme in the '90s movie.

Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo have reportedly closed their deals to play the co-lead roles of Ryu and Ken, respectively, and...

Street Fighter | David Dastmalchian to play the villainous M Bison
Image
David Dastmalchian, star of Late Night With The Devil, has been announced as the Street Fighter film’s primary antagonist, M Bison.

Late Night With The Devil star David Dastmalchian has been unveiled as the arch villain in Legendary’s planned adaptation of Capcom’s Street Fighter videogame series. Fallout's Walton Goggins was previously said to be in negotiations for the role around a month ago, that hasn’t come to pass. Instead – thanks Deadline – it will be Dastmalchian who (presumably) dons the scarlet outfit of M Bison.

M Bison, the Street Fighter series’ big bad, is the kind of sneering villain who rocks a cloak and shoulder pads so you know he’s the final boss to end all final bosses. Nothing says ‘fascism’ like the combination of cloak, shoulder pads and a peaked military hat. And as the terrifying head of the criminal organisation known as Shadaloo,...

The Street Fighter roster is filling up fast, and they've found some interesting names to bring these iconic video game characters to life. Street Fighter was one of the most popular fighting video games of the 1990s, alongside Mortal Kombat. Sony Pictures and Legendary Entertainment seem to be fast-tracking the film, as casting news is coming at us faster than several high-speed punches delivered to the face.

The Hollywood Reporter has now revealed that Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has joined the cast of Street Fighter as Balrog, a former boxer introduced in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, and who works for the villainous M. Bison. Shortly after news of Curtis' involvement, Deadline reported that comedian and controversial podcast host Andrew Shulz had joined the cast.

Caught by the Tides

Jia Zhang-ke’s elegiac and poetic feature revolves around a woman (Zhao Tao) who journeys from her home in a fading industrial city in search of a vanished former boyfriend. The movie looks back on China’s recent history, but also on Jia’s filmography, echoing themes, geographical features, techniques and structural elements while incorporating footage shot at various intervals from 2001 through 2023 — an approach that gives it a kind of kinship with Richard Linklater’s Boyhood. — David Rooney

Ghost Trail

Centering on a Syrian exile tracking down his former torturer in France, Jonathan Millet’s film is a work of visceral intensity and formidable control. Millet has a shrewd grasp of paranoid-thriller mechanics; a refreshing preference for intimacy and clarity over distancing stylistic or narrative fussiness; and two fantastic actors: soulful, movie-star-magnetic lead Adam Bessa and Tawfeek Barhom as a villain whose humanity is the most chilling thing about him.
