Tommy Boyce(1939-1994)

When The Monkees began playing their own instruments in the studio, and writing and producing their own songs, Boyce partner and Bobby Hart weren't sure where they stood with the band. They needn't have worried; when the pair attended a Monkees show and Davy Jones spotted them, he instantly called them up onstage, introducing them to the audience as "The fellows who wrote our great hits - Tommy and Bobby!" Every original Monkees album (except the Sogni perduti (1968) soundtrack) included Boyce and Hart songs, and Davy and Micky Dolenz toured with them in the 1970s. (They also made an album together, released by Capitol Records.)
