Leprechaun: The Beginning

First off, you need to have a certain personality to love b-rate schlock. It let's you pass things off and find them as entertaining and charming. This movie, however, cuts every corner they could. The makeup artist should be ashamed of themselves for even allowing that abomination to be shown on screen. The script should've been burned. I can't believe people actually auditioned to be in this slop. The acting was actually just fine, but I feel bad for them having to work with this script. The dialogue at least had good enough sound quality to it. Also, don't expect literally anything to happen for 30 minutes and at least they finally gave the leprechaun gloves after the initial first scene. Genius stuff there guys.

If so they all past with flying colours, im shocked the budget allowed them to film at a mansion. I guess thats why they used family and passers by to have a part. Forgetting this would have been part of an awful series, its even to bad for that. I mean, just walk down a road and shove a script in someones hands and say camera , go... its that bad.

The storyline was not that bad. The execution of the final product was what did this movie in.

Everything about this movie was low budget.

The Leprechaun was not Irish.. and seemed to have trouble speaking with the terrible makeup on. And very tall.. for a leprechaun.

The Acting for the Family was very mediocre.

The Mother and Father were stiff and boring. ( But the Mother's acting picked up slightly at the end. ) The 3 daughters were a little more animated. Very different and I would've tried to have cast people who looked similar. The youngest one I pegged for the middle child. The middle child I pegged for the youngest.

The Aunt and Uncle did a very decent acting job.

The kills really were cheap and fake looking.

Can't say it was the worst movie I've seen.. but it needed something more..

First and foremost, do not be misled. This is unrelated to the original Leprechaun movies. The review posted above me pretty much nailed it. This movie is awful. Seriously, it's an hour and a half of my life I'm never getting back. Yet somehow, as big of a trainwreck as it was, I still watched to the end. I think I was just curious if it was going to get worse. Spoiler alert, it did. The effects are terrible. The acting is terrible. The plot is terrible.

Every aspect is trash the acting the writing the design everything. The movie had to have a budget of 5k . Everyone in the film is awful and beyond poorly acted including the three teenage daughters who were in their late 20s early 30s . The actual design of the leprechaun is beyond awful and his acting is trash . The leprechaun looks like a Mardi gras costume party reject . The kills are so awful there's more convincing effects at Halloween spirit stores. This is not funny bad just miserable bad . There is a scene where the leprechauns make up is falling off his face and the accent wtf, why does he sound middle Eastern?. Not just a bad horror film but truly terrible overall. How was this greenlit?
