It's as if the creators went out of their way to include random scenes and dialogue just to fill time, rather than focusing on developing the story or characters in any meaningful way.
The whole plot suffers because of it, and instead of enhancing the narrative, these pointless additions only serve to bore the viewer.
It's frustrating to watch something so bloated with filler that contributes nothing to the overall experience or coherence of the plot.
If creators couldn't write more, they should have just stopped after 3-4 seasons.
The Hodgela scenes on the rooftop (?) - that seems to only exist in this one episode - are so fun, sweet and silly. Brennan finally giving psychology and her gut a try - again, just for this one episode - is great, especially when coupled with the domestic B&B ft Sweets scenes. And then there's the Camastoo reveal which is both absolutely hilarious because nobody seems to be able to find a romantic partner outside of work and just really sweet once you see how down bad they are for each other.
One continuity thing that kinda annoys me though is Cam only just now being weirded out about Paul being Michelle's gynaecologist when that was nipped in the bud back in s5, he wasn't even Michelle's gynaecologist after that first episode. I know it was just mentioned to introduce the Cam/Arastoo of it all but they probably could've done it differently to keep things consistent.
One of the things I love the most though is Hodgins and Angela continuing to be in Cam's personal business. It's basically a repeat of them finding out about Cam and Booth in season 2 but even more enjoyable now that they're married and sharing secrets and not just overtly flirting with each other in the lab.
Anyway, love this episode, if I'm ever looking for just a fun episode of Bones to watch, this is always in contention, 10/10.
This is one of the stronger episodes of Season 8. The case is interesting and memorable, but also the B plot is significant because it is the first on screen confirmation of Camastoo! I will admit that when this episode first aired, I did not see the romantic pairing between Cam and Arastoo coming, but I was quickly on board with the idea. If you go back and watch Arastoo's episodes from S4-7, you will see that when he is not in a group scene with Brennan and the others, he has almost all of his other scenes exclusively with Cam. I don't know how far ahead of Season 8 the writers decided they wanted to make Cam and Arastoo a couple, but I do think it makes sense, and that they are very cute together. Cam deserves to be happy, and to be with someone who recognizes how beautiful, smart, and kind she is. Arastoo deserves to be happy too, so I am glad they found each other.
I love Camastoo as a couple, but I do often wonder how they got together, because the episode doesn't tell us. Did he ask her out, because if so that is a very bold move to ask out the boss, but it's just as bold if she asked him out. The Jeffersonian obviously has both bad security and non-existent HR, and they are hardly the first people from the lab to date each other, but it is an interesting power dynamic. (One that I don't have an issue with because it's fiction, but in real life I probably would).

With the Washington Monument and the Capitol Building behind them, this put the Jeffersonian right around where the Smithsonian Institution is the real Washington DC.
- गूफ़Cam tells Angela that she isn't seeing Dr. Lidner anymore because she can't keep seeing her daughter's gynecologist. When Michelle first found out that Cam was dating him she said she could never go back to him and told Cam to find her a female gynecologist.

Arastoo Vaziri: [at Hodgins' impressed look] What is it, Dr. Hodgins?
Dr. Jack Hodgins: [With a big smile] You're a political exile. That is so cool.
[His smile drops at Arastoo's raised eyebrows]
Dr. Jack Hodgins: In a terrible, terrible way. Of course.
Arastoo Vaziri: Of course.
