Love Me

Love Me (2025) is a science fiction romance movie and it was very mediocre.

Positives for Love Me (2025): Steven Yuen and Kristen Stewart do have good chemistry with each other. There are some interesting things being explored in the movie. The movie has good pacing. And finally, I liked the futuristic look of certain scenes and they were interesting.

Negatives for Love Me (2025): There are things in the movie that I found to be weird. I failed to understand the whole point of the story. And finally, the timeline of the movie doesn't really make any sense.

Overall, Love Me (2025) is a mix bag of things I liked and things I disliked.

Maybe this isn't for most people, but such experimental existential love stories are something I'll always admire. Through the love story between a satellite and a water buoy in the dystopian future, they have managed to show a lot of issues people face today. It especially felt real for people with trauma or who are neurodivergent. The way "Me" tries to imitate the love and happiness of people from the past to feel something, and how "Iam" learns how to feel through that, were incredibly relatable thought processes, even though the situations were not. Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun gave incredible performances on top of all that. And I guess, this is what people say, "it's like a Black Mirror episode," even though I haven't seen Black Mirror.

I thought this would be right up my alley, I love indie, weird movies. I also love a unique concept and have no issue with slow burns or just storytelling vs having a plot. I was so excited for this because I love both the leads and thought it was such a cool idea, like Wall-E and Eve. It was genuinely slow and lacked something but I found it entertaining enough. I wouldn't watch it again but am glad I watched it once. My husband always turned it down because it looked too slow so I rented it by myself because I knew my husband would hate it. And he would've most definitely. He needs the story to be fast paced to keep his attention.

I can swear that the directors have watched melodysheep on YouTube.

The beginning showing the timeline of earth has a similar feel to their videos on YouTube not even mentioning the font used to show the years.
