Alcazar created the nightmarish fantasy film concept following a conversation with the multi-Grammy Award-winning singer and actor who requested that “a boy in a haunted forest” be the story’s focal point. From idea to concept to final product took Alcazar about three to four months to complete.

“The creative freedom and time I had working with Abel allowed us to dive deep into raw themes and bold techniques. Grammy-nominated artist Porter Robinson has hit the road for his Smile! :D World Tour and we have the setlist for the show!

The 32-year-old DJ and producer has split his show into three acts focusing on three of his albums – Smile :D for the first act, Nurture for the second act, and his debut album Worlds for the third act.

The tour kicked off with two nights at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, Mass. last week and he’s performing songs from his 10+ year career.

Porter will be on tour in North America through November 2 before taking his show to Asia for the rest of the year. 2025 will see him traveling around Japan and Europe!

The self-funded feature from auteur Francis Ford Coppola has been rife with on-set production rumors, ranging from a below-the-line exodus to allegations of Coppola kissing extras against their will. The sprawling ensemble film, which debuted at Cannes, is now almost in theaters for the world to witness its unhinged storyline and effects.

Adam Driver leads the film as a pseudo alter-ego of writer/director Coppola. The Oscar-nominated actor plays an architect who envisions saving his corrupt city and transforming the metropolis into a utopia. Meanwhile, the city’s mayor (Giancarlo Esposito) clashes with Driver’s character, just as the mayor’s daughter (Nathalie Emmanuel) becomes romantically entangled with him.

Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” is bringing in some extra help for the lead-up to its theatrical release — and the “Godfather” auteur didn’t even have to look outside his own family for it.

The self-financed sci-fi epic, which premiered at Cannes and is set to play the Toronto International Film Festival next month before Lionsgate releases it on September 27, has enlisted Utopia to assist with the film’s rollout. The boutique distributor, which was founded by Coppola’s nephew Robert Schwartzman, will collaborate with Lionsgate to provide alternative marketing services to help the film reach younger audiences.

Per a press release, Utopia will aid Lionsgate’s rollout of the film with a series of “specialty marketing, word-of-mouth, and non-traditional theatrical distribution initiatives.”

Since its founding in 2019, Utopia has carved out a niche for itself as a distributor of challenging independent films, often with a genre slant, that are produced on very low budgets.

Eddie Alcazar’s Divinity tells a strangely unsettling story about humanity’s relationship with science and our innate fear of mortality. The film takes place in a somewhat distant future where an inventor named Jaxxon Pierce has developed a serum called Divinity that claims to offer immortality by halting the physical aging process. However, this miracle drug comes with a major caveat: it renders all who take it permanently sterile. As a result, over time humans have lost their ability to reproduce even as they’ve gained the promise of never-ending life.

We’re introduced to Jaxxon, played compellingly by Stephen Dorff, as he operates a booming commercial enterprise selling Divinity to anyone eager to escape death. But it becomes clear he cares more for profits and pleasure than any ethical considerations.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the most popular gaming titles in the world. This game from Larian Studios was released in 2023 on Windows, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and macOS. The 2024 Taormina Film Festival is set to open on Saturday night with the premiere of Mitzi Peirone’s new thriller “Saint Clare,” which stars Bella Thorne as a young woman who acts on the advice of voices in her head to commit a series of murders. But the highly anticipated screening won’t be Thorne’s only presence at the Taormina.

The actress and singer, who previously directed the short film “Paint Her Red” along with many of her music videos, is bringing her latest short “Unsettled” to the festival. Ahead of its international premiere at Taormina (the film previously screened at Palm Springs ShortsFest), IndieWire can exclusively reveal the trailer for “Unsettled.”

Per a press release, “Unsettled” tells the “true story of a young man drugged and abducted from a gay club who escapes and seeks to bring his tormentors to justice in a deeply conservative Bible Belt Oklahoma.

There’s no doubt that Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the best titles Swen Vincke and his team has made. The developers’ perfectly crafted elements led to the title being loved by critics and fans alike, with story, characters, world, and gameplay all being significant components.
