Ironheart

Well, I gave it my best effort. I really tried watching this with an open mind. I can see why they pushed this back a few years. Not sure how many reshoots they did, but they should've done more.

I am shocked that this made it past teams of people and actually got made. Yes, it is that bad. I'm not even sure a Company like the CW would have greenlit something like this. This seems like a series you would find on a random cable channel, not made by a company worth billions and billions of dollars.

What is going on at Disney?

Riri Is such an unlikable character. But then again everyone in the show is. Not only that but the writing is horrendous. I don't think I'm going to watch the next 3 episodes.

2/10 - how did this get made?

Oh my those first three episodes were enough for me and I won't be coming back. First off the protagonist of this story can't act but even if she could her character Ree-Ray is insufferable, completely unlikable. She steals when she needs certain things but it's ok because it's for a great cause (right). The supporting actors are really dull and unlikable as well; there's one that's supposed to be intimidating but he's anything but intimidating. The story is horrible, disjointed, and convoluted. I thought I was supposed to be watching a superhero series but the story is all over the place and it's so boring. Oh, and the protagonist is a genius and you'll know because everyone to include herself will let you know.

The moral of this show, is you don't have to earn anything.

Riri is amazing, apparently, because everyone says so, but why? Nobody knows, just keep saying she's amazing and it'll stick.

She didn't earn the suit, she's not strong, funny or cool. She's just feels like an NPC who stumbled upon Excalibur laying on the floor and claims she's the king of the world. She helps her fellow students cheat on their tests and projects, seeking her out just to use her to not fail. So she didn't earn anything and she's surrounded by people who didn't earn anything, in fact everyone is just ripping off everyone else, just like Ironheart is a ripoff of Ironman.

Imagine if you went to the valedictorian of your class and said "make this work for me or I'll fail". What kind of message does that send the audience? That it's okay to get by in life if you just let somebody else do your job for you?? That's insane! Tony Stark was the head of a massive successful business and one of the smartest minds on the planet and he didn't need everyone telling him he's amazing. He built a giant mechanical suit in a cave with junk! He made a tiny reactor to keep his heart from getting shredded! Riri simply stole everything! It's like saying "I'm an architect" just because you can put legos together. Awfully terrible start to a mediocre show.

I can definitely see the potential for this Marvel Series, but unfortunately it seems to succumb to the post COVID-19 & Writers Strike blues. Meaning that ever since COVID-19 & The Writers Strike, out of all of the TV shows & movies that I have watched, about 85% of them had poor storyline with plots that seem to get Lost in Space. In my humble opinion, Ironheart also seems to succumb to this ongoing situation and who has an outside balcony workshop in Chicago, AKA, The Windy City??? Not to mention the Brutal Winters??? Just another example of the ongoing poor writing that Hollywood has been spewing out since COVID-19 & The Writers Strike.

I'll start off with 1 positive: visual effects were not too bad. Um, now here we go...the acting was horrendous, the storyline appears to be written by a 5 year old; predictable and basically non interesting to watch. It's frustrating to me that people got paid for putting out this garbage. I can't imagine that this was screened in advance for consumer feedback. If you write garbage, then that is what you will see on the screen. I think that any run of the mill marvel super fan could have put together a way better storyline that what was produced. The acting is terrible, I don't expect this series to continue...
