I Got the Hook Up

I kept asking myself, "they actually made a film this bad??!". I didn't laugh one time. The worst acting, the dumbest story, a veritable plethora of ignorance. It appeared that they had no ending for the movie, so one of the main characters mugs for the camera and says "I think somebody just shot me in da ASSSSSSSSS!!! It's like they just ran out of film and said, "Yeah..we'll end it here".

i got the hook up is a pretty down movie. Master P could have played a better role like a mob boss instead of a little street hustler. it wasn't as good as his last movie's Da Last Don and I'm Bout IT. personally i thought the movie was good. i give it a 7.0/10

This is the worst film I have ever SEEN!!! It was SO bad, that every film I've seen since, I have simply loved, thus this film has ruined me from EVER giving another objective review of any film! In the user voting section I have noticed that 40 users gave this film a 10! a TEN! I didn't know Master P's had bought PC's and Internet access for his family! My GOD!!! I'm comin' to you 'Lizabeth! I have nothing else to say.

When I went to see this movie I was hesitant, but it actually turned out to be really funny. I felt like i was watching the real sequel to "Friday". The movie is quirky and hilarious. There are a lot of notable actors many from "Friday" the others are rappers off of Master P's No Limit label. Ice Cube has a cameo where he sells a stolen car to AJ Johnson. If you liked "Friday" and have got nothing against Master P I recommend this movie. Believe me you will be laughing...

I rented this movie on Saturday night out of sheer desperation. Blockbuster was crowded and every movie I wanted to watch was out. 'I Got The Hook Up' was just about the only movie left on the shelf. It was right beside the new releases and the write-up on the box looked pretty funny. Having now seen the movie with my husband, I have to say that it would NOT rate in my Top 100. It was quite funny in places, particularly the car chase towards the end of the movie when Black is trying to drive a car with the hood stuck up in the air and Blue is out there on the bonnet trying to shut it. But basically the movie was pretty plotless and pointless and not as funny as I had expected it to be. To be fair, although the language was crude and there was a bit of nudity, any sex was more hinted at than displayed, which makes a nice change after Channel 5. But if you are looking to rent a movie, I wouldn't recommend this unless you are big time into Rap Music. We certainly had a bit of a hard time trying to make out what the characters were saying half the time!!
