As many noted, the visuals, parti the world building, is great. It's the rest of them that are super.

Like the transfer tables for instance. There's no real use of advanced looking tech, just clear acrylic 'tables' with what looks like copper tubing in places. Use of analog keyboards and lots of cheap cheesy looking moulded walls on the ship.

The aliens are okay looking but seem to mostly lack the fear factor outside of minor jump scares. Someone described them as TikTok aliens and it sums them up quite appropriately.

The characters are underwhelming, mostly a cast of relative unknown Gen X,Y, Z that elicited only annoyance in our household. While they are obviously emotionally immature, there seems to be little effort towards socialization or maturity by those caring for them.

We're all fans of the original and some of the sequels but this episode is a swing and a miss in our household. We will watch watch the next episode but don't really expect to watch beyond that.

Despite this being a Lifetime production, I had high hopes for it as a faith based movie but it fell far short of the mark.

I really liked that the characters were very natural about their faith but it felt a bit watered down for a more mainstream audience. That isn't a bad thing, just an observation.

Chrissy Metz is a lovely, talented actress whom I have enjoyed in other roles, however this was not the right casting for this role. The character was simply unlikeable and seemed to have little chemistry with her co-stars, especially those playing the roles of her family, and I don't believe she would have been an effective nurse outside of an administrative role due to her size.

Likewise, I don't believe the character she played would have had the endurance, stamina or ability to perform many of yhe tasks depicted. Doing anything in a stressful, smokey environment would be very hard on the heart and lungs and although the character lost consciousness and was administered oxygen, she would simply not have been able to leap right up back into action however she might have wished to.

Even the parts where all the nurses got into the car and she offered to drive or a minute later when she piled into the back seat and they were all told to buckle up were implausible due to her size.

I am a short plus sized woman and am well aware of the limitations of being even mildly overweight can place on someone. I also know a number of professional nurses and while some are also rubenesque they are very fit and said that she would probably not be hired as an active duty floor or emergency room nurse due to her lkmitations.

From what pictures I've seen of Ms. Jolly, she is a lovely average sized, very fit woman and Ms. Metz's talent aside, I can't understand why they wouldn't cast someone closer in appearance to the subject.
