I gave this movie a genuine try because I like supernatural movies but this one was so bad. The CGI was bad, the script was terrible and the acting was really awful. I watched about 15 minutes of it and that's all I could take. It ranks up there as some of the worst movies I've ever seen. The movie doesn't clarify why these ghosts are terrorizing Rebecca or who the guy is and how he relates to Rebecca. Realistically, it's not smart to pick up a stranger. Some of the elements weren't even fictionally credible, such as Rebecca forgetting to drop the guy off at his place. Not believable. Totally outrageous.
This is one of the worst Nicholas Cage movies I've ever seen. He plays a player who is all consumed with sleeping with as many women as possible until he meets this very beautiful woman (vampire?) who bites him during sex and he is convinced he is a vampire and starts wearing fangs and acting strangely. The way he acts as an executive, his secretary should have called the police and reported him for stalking. He would be fodder for a mental hospital. The comedy is just plain stupid. If this was Cage's foray into comedy, don't quit your day job. I thought there wasn't a movie any worse than Renfield but I was wrong. Mr. Cage, you can't need money that bad. This script really sucked and was weak. Because of the bad scriptwriying, it made the actors look bad too. A bad script can make or break an actors career.
This is an incredibly bad movie but it is so funny. Dom Delouse is absolutely hilarious as Munchie, the cute but mischievous little creature Gage has let out of his box that he's been in for a long time. Munchie means well but he makes Gage's life very complicated going over the top trying to help Gage deal with bully classmates, a principal out to get him and his mother's greedy boyfriend. It includes a nutty professor (Arte Johnson) and an airhead blond (Loni Anderson). I thought the effects were pretty good and the comedy was awesome. I love slapstick comedy and this definitely fits the bill. I guarantee if you like comedy, you'll love this movie and I am a very hard to please critic when it comes to comedy.
