It's a classic story - there isn't really anything new in terms of plot. But the visuals and the surrounding atmosphere create a strong sense of eeriness. The way Robert Eggers has captured the darkness is truly commendable. Many movies use a blue tint to depict nighttime or darkness, but Eggers takes a different approach - how he managed it, I honestly don't know. Lily-Rose Depp's performance was outstanding; she completely steals the show. The only drawback of the film is its predictable storyline. Still, the aesthetic atmosphere keeps you engaged. It's a good watch overall. However, if you're expecting intense horror, you might end up disappointed.
The film is generally a decent, entertaining thriller, but not that groundbreaking enough. It's considered a solid effort with good performance from Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman. The good part of the movie is its pacing particularly in the action sequences.
The first half of the movie is slow but it progresses as the movie moves towards its second half where it becomes engaging.
There is no lacking in depth and emotional investment, the movie relies more on thrills than character development.
The score enhances the tension, making every twist and turn feel impactful.
Carry On is not a perfect movie, but it offers a refreshing take on the action thriller genre.
