I confess to being a Sam Becket fan. Never missed a single night of QL and cried like a baby when my older brother explained Sam never returned him. I was dedicated to not liking the reboot no one could replace Sam. Ben didn't he made it, his own. QL 2022 is good, solid entertainment. I don't watch QL to learn about science, I did that in HS and College. The Hannah character is nice, it adds a bit of warmth,Ben isn't alone. The core support group back at QL 2022 is a diverse, solid group that has his back. It's immensely satisfying with good, solid scripts and character development. S3 leap to it.
Its starts slow, as it introduces all the characters and their place in the shows universe. The twins relationship is solid as they navigate high school, some bullying, and their own awakening powers. The parents appears steady, sure of each other but also mildly dissatisfied with their lot, but slaves to duty and obligation, and of where their relationship is going. The ministers are eventful and while I-am still watching the show, i like it. Im looking forward to the gradual introduction of some of the more receptive towns people to the true nature of the family and what they do. I am also looking forward to a meeting of the freed demon/witch and the family of
"Slayers". Its worth the time.
Midnight is one of those shows that start slow with teasers. It's a nod and wink to the supernatural while also inter-splicing realistic possibilities. It's like a joke. A vampire, a witch, an angel, a wear beast and a hired killer walk into a diner. Except it doesn't have a punch line. Instead. It draws you in. Slowing unraveling each characters background until, you are invested In the towns scrappy bunch of characters. It's definitely worth the time. I intend to binge on all the episodes, thus far, this weekend. The marriage of the occult and Normalicy is intriguing and I'm interested to see where it goes.
