Some really strange casting in season 2.
Megan Landry and her sister are clearly of Asian descent (or rather the actresses that are portraying them). Interesting choice, given that both of her parents APPEAR to be entirely Caucasian.
The actress that they chose to play Isabella (Lexi Underwood) was a strange choice to be playing someone who was supposed to be 16 at the beginning of the story arc. She clearly looked older and has large breast implants (something you don't normally see in a girl under 18).
This is just an educated guess, but the actor who plays Brent Chambers appears to be a different race from both of his parents. I think the same could be said for the actor who plays Luke Chambers (he's kind of funny looking, in my opinion).

Just watched season 1. A fairly engaging story of a group of women in their mid 20's in high school (well, those were their ACTUAL ages).
However, they radically changed the appearance of Jeanette and Kate in the 3 years that were being relayed, making it hard to tell who was who. When Jeanette cut her hair for 1995 she looked heavier and so different it was a while before I realized it was her.
Kate's look changed dramatically. The color/tint of her skin changed over the 3-year period. At one point, her eyes looked almost Asian. There were times, during the first 3 episodes, when I didn't realize it was Kate, she looked THAT different.
I also don't think that the actor who played Jamie was at all convincing as a straight guy.

It started out good but then got a bit "soap opera-ish" in the middle. The final episode wrapped things up well and in a touching manner.
I completely misread the direction episode one was headed ... I was SURE Johnny and Gat were going to wind up together.
The actress (Emily Alyn Lind) who played Cadence "Cady" Sinclair is captivatingly beautiful (both with blonde hair AND black). The big, saucer-like eyes draw you in. This criticism may seem superficial, but if they want an actress to play a 16-year-old (later 17-year-old), they should probably NOT choose one with breast implants (while a 16-year-old CAN get (with parents' permission), it IS pretty rare).
Also, Emily and the actress who played Mirren (Esther McGregor) both had a lot of eye wrinkles for women that were playing 16-year-olds. That can be due to a lot of time in the sun, I suppose.
