This is utterly drivel. Arjona, is absolute class, but Glen Powell? Never heard of him, nor do I want to hear of him ever again. Talentless and unconvincing, I fail to see how he was even considered for any movie role. That aside, this is a very bad movie that plays out like a poor episode of a long running soap that has run out of ideas. How I managed to sit through two hours of a movie that is allegedly some sort of a comedy is a bigger mystery than how this complete garbage got greenlighted. There are obviously movie execs out there with even less talent for recognising a complete dud than the 'creative' team that put this junk together.
More DTN (direct to Netflix) pulp. I love Jessica, she's such a cool, super-gorgeous actress and this appears to be trying to resurrect her Dark Angel character of Max Guevara in this very poor attempt at an action/revenge movie. Max was an easy sell as the taciturn young mutant, super soldier. This was much more difficult. While still as beautiful as ever, having a forty year old three times a mom, Jessica appearing in poorly choreographed and clichéd fight scenes doesn't hold the same appeal. The story is very generic and unoriginal. The disaffected war veteran returning home to right the wrongs of apparent injustice has been done so many times before and often much better than this.
That doesn't get the story they deserve. Clearly this is no more than regurgitated fodder for the gamer community. Apart from some decent special effects, this movie has little going for it. Marion Cotillard is a really effective actress, but her performance is flat. Jeremy Irons in cruise control in a role that any jobbing extra could have covered. It's all a bit pointless. Never having played this or any other computer/video game since Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Megadrive, it was very difficult to have much more than a passing interest. The movie never really does anything for the casual viewer and can only be of limited appeal in the current format. Originality and quality storyline are becoming a thing of the past.
