I thought clichés were bad but this series manages to serve lots of second hand embarrassment along with the clichés. I mean the whole scenario is a repeat of many action and not only movies but Reacher manages to make all these look pointless, cringe-y and overall negative for whatever kickass moments he later delivers. The writers must have been hired on sale as writing is very sloppy, things are barely explained, solutions appear out of thin air and the best thing that can happen at any given time is you can JUST predict what will happen next.

This series would have been mediocre 20 years ago, now it's just awful.

Don't bother watching, if you like watching films that make sense. Or if you like films that don't have you look at your watch. Or if you like films that give you some sense of closure, good or bad. What a mess. The movie introduced so many characters that could have developed meaningfully and helped mesh 2,5 hours of this dragging movie into something more engaging. But sadly those opportunities were wasted. And that ending... Who? What? Why? How? Nothing explained. No plot holes filled. And it has a rating of 7.4. What a joke. Deeply disappointing.

Actually, I gave it 4 stars? Let me make it 3. If it weren't for the cinematography and the main character's acting, and if it hadn't touched me as a father myself, I would give it 2.

Was it a thriller, as I thought when I saw the cover at the video library? No. Was it a 'food fr thought' as the author was maybe trying to make it? Not really. So what was it? It was a very average movie, that had great potential, and was nicely directed but let down by a confusing story without strong points, beginning middle and end, with poor acting expect from the serial killer guy, who although he seemed overzealous at some points delivered the best performance of the cast overall. It was nice cinematography, with good colours, cool hi-tec stuff, beautiful scenics but leaves you lost about where it's going and where it has just been. And with a feeling of let's just quickly wrap it up in the end. OK to watch if there's nothing else on TV.
