Who exactly is this movie for? Thats not to sound rude, I'm just not sure who asked for a legacy sequel for a movie where the last entry came out in 1998 and even that movie wasn't very beloved.
I know what you did last summer follows a group of young adults that accidentally cause a terrible accident that claims someone's life, and this said group swears to never tell anyone about the accident. What follows is an hour and a half of boring, uninspired, and mind numbing kills from a dull horror movie villain. As we watch this group get hunted down one by one by this mysterious killer out for revenge, the movie falls into horror tropes of characters making terrible decisions, splitting up instead of staying together, not running away when they have the chance, etc etc. Characters are interchangeable, and this is some of the cringiest dialogue and line delivery I have seen this year.
This movie attempts to emulate the revival of the Scream series, but the issue here is the Scream movies at least have a very strong cult following...I'm not sure who was asking for a new "I know what you did last summer" entry.

Jurassic World: Rebirth is the exact type of Jurassic World movie you've been waiting for. The dinosaurs take center stage and the movie truly delivers on great dinosaur action and terror. It's a return to form for the series with Oscar winning and Oscar nominated actors (Mahershala Ali, Scarlett Johansson) leading this film that turn in very well rounded and entertaining performances.
Unfortunately, the plot is borderline non existent, but the numerous 'larger than life' dinosaur scenes more than make up for that. The movie is far from perfect, but it's a very solid, self contained, action movie with dinosaurs front and center. It's incredibly enjoyable on a surface level and makes for a great "summer movie event." See it on the biggest screen you can. 7.5/10.

A very straight forward title to a film that is a little too convoluted story wise. What starts as an interesting story about a broken family falls into a mundane plot that is saved by its third act. There are true elements of horror here, Okwui Okpokwasili plays the mysterious woman to an expert degree, and she truly carries the movie. The middle act of the film becomes a "trapped in a house" survival horror and this is where the plot really grinds to a halt.
The movie is saved by its resolution that has an interesting take on mental health, and an ending that is "open-ended" enough to keep you guessing on what exactly happened.
