A couple years ago, I decided to no life this series and played every game in a row starting with 0. Love this game series, and specifically Kiryu.
When I first saw this show's Kiryu, I was concerned. To me, Kiryu is the Japanese Superman. Against any and all odds, he wins. Throw 1000 people at him, he beats them all. I love it. He rarely shows any emotion, he's just a Terminator who always fights for the greater good.
That part I think they got right in this show. Unless he's alone with Haruka or something, I like that he's an epic, stoic, invincible hero who has a code. At the end of most games, he's usually shot, stabbed, beat up, thrown off a building, etc and still wins. I like how they followed that rule in this show. They did Kiryu justice which was my #1 concern.
As for the rest, my biggest issue was on Prime it wouldn't always show the subtitles if I watched in Japanese. That's how I play the games, that's how I wanted to watch the show. Not sure why this happened but I had to watch with dubs, and I never like that. I could nitpick more if I wanted, but the fact they got Kiryu right made it fun to watch.
