The new style of horror film in that time. But in completely different of for example, Hitchcock's point of view.
This is written by the writers of Hitchcock's Vertigo.
There are several important impacts in the movie, that have been followed by other directors after a long time. I would mention several points.
The surgery segment is strongly horror. The director have been shown the details and in slow rhythm makes strong horror.
A very good sample of using black and white color, to make sense.
The idea of changing faces even used recently in Face Off, but in such a different point of view.
If you are an film lover, it is advised to see as a classic.

I had seen this movie so long time ago, in my childhood and also in teenage. What made me to write the comment is "Flightplan" of 2005. When I was thinking about the "Flightplan" and its story line, I remembered this movie. The base of the two movies are the same. One mother reports about her daughter missing, but it seems that she have never existed.
If you have seen "Flightplan", you will find that how much this movie is better. This movie has been made so better based on psychological problem of people. You will find a strong reasons step by step, and when you knew the truth you have great sense. The directing is strong and performances are well, specially Keir Dullea.
You can see it and enjoy of it, and you will never forgot the experience.

This seems a good movie for watching, but just for once. You can follow the story and enjoy it. But this is not as well as another one made so long time ago.
What I would mention here is that there is a similar movie in 1965. The name is "Bunny Lake Is Missing", directed by Otto Preminger, starting Laurence Olivier, Carol Lynley and Keir Dullea. I saw the movie long time ago, but I found the same plot summary for both of them. What idea that makes both of them interesting is that the viewer does not know the truth since a while. The ambiguity that is made for the first role, also is made for watcher. But I think, "Bunny Lake Is Missing" a better movie.
In the first one, the reason of story is money, but in "Bunny Lake Is Missing", psychological interests make the reason. In comparison between them, I believe that "Bunny Lake Is Missing" is stronger than the "Flightplan", both from story line point of view and acting. Consider just about 40 years have been passed.
