This was a very good documentary on Elway. It of course went through the big ups and downs, the highlights, lowlights, struggles juggling football and family.
But there was an emotional intimacy here that wasn't present in "The Last Dance", other than to talk about Jordan's passion and competitiveness. But that's a given in great athletes.
The filmmakers here managed to get into Elway's heart, as he knocked on the door of Greatness, wanting to be let in, and then as he endured the world knocking on his door, waiting for true greatness to emerge, as it finally did, convincingly, with absolute resolve.

One word: TAUT! This movie is a credit to the genre. Out-of-the-box plot, twist, twist, twist, non-stop tension and conflict, never 'jumps-the-shark", terrifically acted, directed, and a really good script, which should give a clue as to why Bateman and Egerton were signed on. Once all the exposition is out of the way, it's one hell of a ride. Rotten Tomatoes PopcornMeter, or whatever it is, gives it a mediocre score, while the Critics give it a VERY respectable 88. Trust the Critics on this one. Those that talk about implausible or ridiculous think this is a documentary on LAX security, IT'S AN ACTION-THRILLER, and it delivers! (99.99% of these types of films assume some leaps in imagination. See Star Wars, or Raiders of the Lost Arc, Alien, or 1,000 other films that do so).
