Probably, there's no point in putting a Spoiler Warning here, as if you've seen the other alien movies, you've likely seen this one as well. I almost wonder if they just went down a checklist of "This should be in an alien movie."
Facehugger- Check.
Chestburster - Check.
Treacherous Android - Check (They named this one "Rook", get it?)
Countdown before something catastrophic is going to happen? - Check.
False sense of safety after an escape? - Check.
Weird Alien/Human Hybrid- Check.
Even the dialogue echoes that of previous movies.
What this movie lacks is characters you care about. You don't feel the same thing when the Alien pops out of a character's chest because the poster spoils which one it is, and it just isn't a surprise.
How many times can you recycle the same formula and still expect it to be interesting?
Another point is that it takes a full 35 minutes for the aliens to show up. That would be nice if they spent more time building this universe. But, nope, this is all stuff we've seen before. Weyland-Yutani is evil, and they want to weaponize the alien.
Skip it. Just break out the DVD or stream of one of the first two movies.

My complaint with this movie is that the tone was kind of uneven. You start with the horror of a young mother being turned into a vampire, never able to see her family again because she wouldn't be able to resist feeding on them. Then a shadowy government agency sets her out to hunt other vampires.
The thing turns into a comedy halfway through, when a group of witches/vampires whatever seek to release the first witch from her prison, with some twists on who is on whose side, and characters who seem to be more comedy than horror.
But again, a fun watch if you turn off your brain.

... you would get this movie.
So the plot is about what you'd expect, some explorers go to an uncharted Island which amazingly has a vibrant enough biosphere to support dozens of large dinosaurs and an ape-like beast.
But where Kong had the joy of Willis O'Brien's animations, this has guys in really bad monster suits, filmed in a low-quality coloring process.
This movie compensates for the lack of creature effects by featuring more melodrama, including a native mutiny, a somewhat awkward love triangle, and a drunken Captain with lust on his mind.
The movie's strong point is Virgina Grey as the female lead.
