It looks like vomit, it smells like vomit, but it isn't vomit. What is it? Try "True Romance", cinematic piece of puke. 10 Eat, 20 Chew, 30 Digest, 40 Vomit, 50 GOTO 10. Someone mentioning all those actors? Not for a single moment I saw characters they're playing, only obnoxiuos Slater, slutty Arquette, bogus Brad and all those wash-ups. This is NOT Pulp Fiction. Only Hopper is left unscathed by director's wielding shotgun. Maybe that's because he seems only normal person in this movie. Say WHAT?! Movie where Dennis Hopper is the sanest person!? Just watch and look how screen melts from far-over-the-top acting. If someone thinks that's suppose to be cool and I didn't get the joke, well I'm glad I didn't. Just like I'm glad I don't "dig" Rocky and Rambo movies. My cat's hairball is more artistic than True Romance. YUCK!
Yugoslav cinema has produced number of great comedies and dramas, but horror movies have never been better than mediocre. It just doesn't suit mentality of Slavic people. Every movie looks and feels goofy and naive, suitable only for children and ones with that kind of sensibility. Sveto mesto, both visually and thematically, is anchored in time which has passed a long time ago. I just can't comprehend it was made in 1990.! It is bleak from every angle. Music by Lazar Ristovski is really dumb and spoils atmosphere every time it plays. There are some good/spooky moments though. Acting is nice, especially Danilo Lazovic in a supporting role. If Sveto mesto had been made in 70's, maybe it would struck a chord, but either way it feels kind of cheap. I can't recommend it, but it wouldn't hurt watching it.
I didn't see anything so annoying for a long time. This ridiculously unconvincing documentary is an insult to good taste and sane logic. It's shame too see Mr. Moore in a role of insider/spy who reveals stupendous facts about sightings of UFO's across USSR. There is no single reasonable statement or believable document in whole hour-an-a-half-lasting agony. Many times I found laughable similarities with Criswell monologues from Ed Wood movies. Yes - it's that bad! (unfortunately, not of so-bad-it's-good category). Oh yeah, not to forget equally dreadful music. This movie attacks from all directions. Watch only if you're ready for mind-boggling pain-inducing experience. If there are aliens, I hope they never see this s**t.
