This movie did have some redeeming qualities. The cast seemed to really give it their all. The script and the budget forever failed them.

Firstly, there were no women in the Roman Legion. And men were not permitted to even marry. The only women that could have accompanied them, would have been prostitutes, caregivers, and domestic servants.

The premise of being attacked by the PICT's is a great idea! It's a shame they couldn't take it beyond the low budget. I do not understand how they consistently reference getting to the wall as a point of safety. Hadrian's Wall, isn't that tall, so I'm not sure how it would stop these demons from following them.

It had a lot of potential.

To start with, I liked it. It's a movie, so anyone that thinks it's gonna do anything other than entertain is mistaken. With everything that's out there, trying to be something other than entertaining, I find this very refreshing. Like any movie particularly action movies , there's very many things that you can pick apart. The lack of bad guys using cover or concealment when approaching is ridiculous. The absolutely reprehensible response time to shots fired, from local law-enforcement is truly unbelievable. But I like the story, at least it's not another sequel, prequel, or just another rip off of some 70s or 80s intellectual property.

The Malta scenery is absolutely magnificent. I'd love to go on a trip, and take my super hot wife and my best dog Wilson. I'm sure we'd have a great time.

But, if you just want to be entertained, this is entertaining.
