Great storyline and even greater camera and editing work. The viewer gets a real sense of being locked up as a prison guard with a bunch of violent criminals. Who can you trust? Who will get jumped?

The claustrophobic feeling is so central, you even see it in the guard's private sphere. This is best represented by the guard Henrik who is living with his family in a damp caravan because his house is infested. Phenomenal symbolism!

I don't give much for the critics saying it's not a representation of real prison life. It's not a documentary - but a great fiction drama.

Season one's ending does however go a bit over the top. And things like the constant rain for dramatic effect does become a bit annoying.

A central element for this story to be unfolded is that the viewer has to truly dislike Otto in the start of the plot. I love Tom Hanks - I mean who doesn't? Somehow this becomes the movies biggest problem. He is simply unable to to play the part of a truly dislikable person.

Another thing that irritated me about this movie was that it has to spell everything out for the viewer. As if you're not able to understand the plot without it being fixed in the actors' lines.

If you want a truly emotional story - go straight for the Swedish version (and no - I'm not swedish). That way you'll also be free of that ridiculous e-truck that Otto has bought in the end. That's the most absurd use of product placement I think I've ever seen.

I was certainly entertained through the two hours of hard boiling action. Sadly the movie makes the same mistake as the other of the latest additions to this neverending anthology. It messes up the last hope of finding a coherent timeline to the whole series.

The second mistake the director makes is the movies obsession to go more than all in with the action scenes. It's just way over the top. It reminds me of the way Die Hard 4 just went totally bananas with John McClain surfing a military jet in that movies' last action scene. The special effects team certainly ain't modest. But sometimes you may come to realize that less actually is more.

The anthology topped with Terminator 2. This movie certainly doesn't add any competition to that fact.

If you are a Terminator affectionado and it's in your streaming service, see it and be entertainined. If not - don't waste your money renting this meth hyped action mad house.
