I would not delve into the plot since the other reviewers have already contributed. However, it's needless to say that it deals with dark magic and human tragedy. The best treat in this movie was Michele Burgers. Although this is the first film I have seen her in, the captivating performance and remarkable versatility of her acting kept me glued to this movie. She had a commanding presence in every scene.

The cinematography is excellent, and the atmosphere is quite menacing. If you are looking for a different horror movie than your usual haunted house or demonic possession, give Breathing In a try.

I was hesitant to rent this movie based on so many bad reviews here. However, I was quite surprised how entertaining this movie was. I agree with other reviewer here that it was better than most high budget Hollywood horror movies out there. The story is not groundbreaking, but it was well executed. The movie does not rely on cheap jump scares and leans more toward more of a atmospheric tension. Almost all the cast are adults, which is not a norm in the horror genre filled with teenage victims. There are no gore scenes in this movie, so if you are into gore, deranged killers, this movie is not for you. This is like an old-fashioned mansion horror movie modernized.

Not a plot line for the movie but the main character Louis Drax is a 9-year-old hateful, lying, manipulative and right-down evil character. No matter how awful this kid is, for all his evil deeds he just receives hugs and understanding.

The entire movie is a clutter of unmatched performances and plot, from unnecessary hateful cop to the stupidest physician on the hospital staff. The behavior of the child therapist is also so out of place. He stirs fights among the adults but caters to every whim of this evil child.

It seems this script was written by 9 years old for 9 years old If evil kids are your thing then for it. A horrible movie.
