He wanted nothing more than to be a good partner, but as soon as things get a little complicated in a relationship, of course She tells him to stay away, flirts with the neighbor/colleague, and treats Him badly. In this film, the girlfriend's irritating attitude is no exception. I know the actors are actually married in real life, but this cliché relationship felt incredibly overused.
The film itself isn't particularly good. It's a low-budget body horror movie, and the core theme-being "together"-comes off as rather silly. In fact, the film is more unsettling at the beginning, where we get a few jump scares, but then it quickly goes downhill.
Many have praised the actors' performances, but I think all three protagonists deliver mediocre work-the guy as the meek, lost, nerdy "musician," her as the self-important and arrogant young teacher, and, of course, the neighbor/colleague, who is just so wholesome and friendly that he inevitably becomes the main suspect. On the contrary, the characters are flat, two-dimensional, and very predictable.
Then there's the whole idea with the cave and the well of water. That's probably the dumbest part of the entire film. No normal person who ends up in a hole in the ground would act like that, which drags the rating down even further to school-theater level. I got the feeling most of the film was shot in a studio, when a real house and forest would've worked much better.
Overall, it is a mediocre, amateurish low-budget attempt you will forget pretty immediately.

I can't help but feel sorry for Peter Stormare (who is also Swedish) and the terrible roles he gets, and this movie is no exception. The plot revolves around five unsympathetic teenagers who are stuck in a house while they search for one of the girls' sisters. The effects are on par with a school play, the monsters look cheap, the makeup is amateurish, but the worst part is the acting - or the total lack thereof. These so-called young actors simply can't perform in front of the camera! Furthermore, they consistently make the most illogical choices at every turn until it becomes comical, but for all the wrong reasons. The result is yet another teen movie where everyone just runs around screaming. It's not even bad enough to be funny. Honestly, I found myself dozing off several times during the movie. Avoid at all cost.
Stupid, childish, sexist, condescending, stupefying, tasteless, silly, stereotypical, clichéd, shallow, dated, insulting, racist, vulgar, repulsive, repetitive, boring, unfunny, bad, lame, disgusting, mindless, cringeworthy, embarrassing, disappointing, unsympathetic, humorless, pointless, unbearable, pathetic, career-limiting, lacking finesse, devoid of intelligence, and totally forgettable.
I wonder what problems people have who give this film more than a 1 as a rating. This awful production must go down in history as a mistake of unimaginable proportions. It ranks far below all of Adam Sandler's lowest points, and when the film finally ended, I felt dirty and humiliated. I don't know what's wrong with American comedy filmmakers, but they don't seem capable of making a single film without crude sex and drug jokes, genuinely stupid stereotypical characters, and deformed gender roles. I get a feeling of disgust when I see such trash because it shows how deeply disturbed the USA is, when a terrible film like this gets a 7.2 rating.
