I found Popcorned Planet during the Johnny Depp trial a year ago after many attempts to find someone, anyone giving actual commentary on the trial from someone that actually watched that days footage. Mostly I got click bait channels giving no substance. Then I found Popcorned Planet. Now I know how lucky I was. Andy, Stef and Kim put in their time and effort to bring great commentary. I found myself watching more with them. Then I stayed. They are honest about their take on things and tell you when they're speculating. I trust this channel. The guests and hosts are diverse. I've learned alot.
It was a great show. I watch everything sci-fi. So much so I watch alot of B movie good low budget sci-fi because I've watched everything else. First season was great! Everyone could watch it. I especially like shows that everyone can watch. Season one was like that. There was gender fluid stuff but it wasn't so in your face younger age groups couldn't watch it. Then season 2. It's like after season one somebody stood up and said "YEAH! We got em on the hook now we can push our agenda down their throats!"
Was full nudity needed in this show? No. Did she have to stand there for a whole conversation? No. Did we need more sex scenes with genders changing? No. I thought the conversation about being vulnerable instead of being a macho man was great. It wasn't necessary to force it down our throats. We got it just fine. I'm 54 and far from a prude but I. Am. Sick. And. Tired! Of every movie and every show thinking they have to have sex in it to do well or to get their point across. It reads of no imagination. Good writers don't need full on nudity and sex to get ratings.. People loved season one!
Then all the hidden agendas that were there in 1 but without a bright spotlight on it now in 2 has bright red lights all over it. We've reeled in the younger malleable viewers now we can let it all hang out! Then climate change ruining the planet in 45 years. Please, I'm not that dumb. Geologists are telling you that regardless what we do Temps will get a bit higher because we're still coming out of an ice age. One! I'm an environmentalist but I'm also smart. One world order/religion? You really think in 45 years you can get that many people to agree with each other over religion? I get you needed an enemy but it was a bit exaggerated and not believable. Maybe if it had been 145 years from now it would have been.
You guys ruined a really really good thing just like people with their own personal agendas always do. I'm just sad.

I am a "B Movie Queen" as my husband calls me. I love a good low budget movie. Low budget doesn't automatically equal bad movie.
I especially love my disaster movies. I expect certain things. Urgency, Science, a good plot, decent acting and common sense dialog. I don't care if the graphics don't look great or the sets are less than steller.
This movie was lacking in those areas. I believe it was due to the directing?
1. Urgency, it was lacking in many situations and in the actors. This is something a good director could bring out of the actors. This was also evident during green screen scenes. The 2 teenagers did pretty well with this.
2. Science. Some of the major concepts were believable. It was the scientists in the room that weren't. It was missing the computer graphics and the whiteboard made no sense. Everytime they showed the scientists they were doing nothing 🙄 3. The plot was good. I don't even know if that thing in space could be a real thing. I didn't care. That means it was explained well enough to be believable.
4. Decent acting. For the most part that was done well. The actors were mostly pretty good. They could have been better with possibly a little more direction especially during green screen scenes. You could tell they weren't feeling it. (The dad was pretty good) 5. Common sense dialog. What I mean is. Dialog that fits the scene. Sometimes that was ok but sometimes it was not. Maybe due to editing.
The footage of the aftermath was well done also. It looked like actual disaster footage which worked well in the movie.
Overall I recommend it if you like these kinds of movies. If you're looking for a San Andreas with Dwayne Johnson, this might not be for you.
I wanted to be honest in the hopes that the next movie by these people could be much better.
