The first episode to the second season of Worst Roomate ever, this episode revolves around a roomate that decided that she wants to take custody of her roommates daughter, and takes drastic ways to achieve it; by any ways possible. And wow, what an evil person. To slowly poison your roommate for the intent to kill her while also pretending to take care of her and being her friend; truly one of the worst fake people that can exist. It's directed decently and the story/talking heads keep this episode interesting. This was actually the first episode I watched of this series before I realized I was on season 2 instead of season 1, so this episode was the one that introduced me to this series, and wow what an introduction! Fantastic documentary filmmaking here.
The 2nd part to this serial squatter episode, and conclusion to season 1 ends with a bang, and to the degree of both compelling testimonies and an explosive ending, this was definitely a story worth 2 episodes telling. Jamison Bachman continued to use violence, intimidation, and his intellect for law to connive his way to live rent free in people's homes, with this story giving details of some women who wouldn't deal with his s**t anymore. These women were very strong to confront this dude, and some of the stuff this doc reveals of what he did was horrible. And to see what he does to his own brother in the end just shows what kind of person he was deep down. The world is better off without people like Jamison, with this documentary giving a hopeful message that even though people like Jamison can ruin people's lives, that doesn't ruin their spirit.
The first part to this 2 episode finale of season 1, this story starts off telling a story of a woman finding a roommate on Craigslist (already red flag) who seemed like a nice and professional guy.... at first. Until he stopped paying for his rent and refused to leave. This is what you call a "serial squatter" which prior to watching this episode, I've never heard of before or knew was even a thing. But yes, there are people out there that will agree to live with you with the intention that you will pay bills, but then switch up and say "no" when it comes time to pay bills and then legally, they can live in your home until the eviction process ends... which is usually months. So yeah, this guy is a pathetic human, and apparently he just didn't do it to her, but numerous others that are interviewed as well. It's an interesting documentary that ends on a cliffhanger that looks a bit deadly. Recommended.
