I have just finished watching the Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix having eagerly awaited it, I was not disappointed. Reading the negative reviews, I have to agree with the comments that if you haven't enjoyed Mike Flanagan's work in the past why have you watched this and hated it!
I have enjoyed all of his work and being a fan of Poe, I thought it was done extremely well, a different take on Poe's classic tales.
I did enjoy Mark Hamill's performance as the mysterious Arthur Pym, I would have liked to have known a bit more about his background.
In a nutshell, excellent series as expected and more please Mr Flanagan!

Embarrassingly terrible I'm afraid. I loved the first 2 movies in the franchise, but this was awful. The off spring of Bill and Ted were annoying to say the least. The story not at all interesting. Unfortunately I still have 371 characters to use on this review and I'm running out of words, 306 now! On the plus side, Mr Reeves does look rather good for a chap fast approaching 60! That said, please stop making these movies after 20 odd years of the last release, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! This isn't the only franchise Hollywood has tried to resurrect, and none of them have been good.......let us remember the originals as they were please.
I have just finished 1899 and there had better be a season 2! I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this after the first couple of episodes but I'm glad I stuck with it, it definitely gets better episode 6 onwards, so stick with it. I loved Dark and this was not a disappointment.
I have to be honest, I was confused at first about what was going on but things got a little clearer in the final episode.
Excellent performances from the actors and the characters back stories were explained. Thankfully it was dubbed as I personally am not a fan of subtitles.
So in a nutshell, if you enjoyed Dark or Lost then definitely watch 1899. I am eagerly awaiting season 2 as there is no way that ending is the end!
