I enjoyed this Hallmark movie, as I love Ireland and love watching any movie filmed there. I do get annoyed at the cliche Hallmark formats but this one had a bit of a different angle. Moira Kelly was great and I haven't seen her in anything since the Cutting Edge, so of course, she looked older to me. The one thing that bothered me the most was the ending. The final scene was just abruptly cut off, as if the editors knew they were running out of time, and just edited it mid-scene. Otherwise, I enjoyed the rest of the movie for what it was-a heartfelt, fun romp looking for love and luck in Ireland.
A Hallmark Christmas movie I can relate to! As someone who was somewhat like Alison Sweeney's character when she was younger...trying to micromanage and control things, I finally learned to trust in the Universe and allow the worry about the future to disappear. This movie is truly about magic, abundance of love, and trusting in the higher powers of the Universe to do what it needs to bring those things into your heart. It's not about being irresponsible, it's about changing perspectives. Life is about slowing down and LIVING.. taking time to smell the flowers, to embrace the beauty of the world around you, and the magic of the world that sometimes we miss because we have been trained to believe that all we are supposed to do in life is work and make money. Live life more like Marlo Thomas's character and trust in the magic of the Universe!
I am an eclectic witch and have always been intrigued by how Hollywood portrays our characters. This has been one of my favorite movies for years because of the accuracy of the portrayal of witches ...at least those of us who don't follow traditional Wiccan or Witchcraft beliefs. I have always felt connected to Sally because I use herbs, crystals and teas in my spellcraft etc. I also believe this movies portrays a twin flame relationship dynamic in a very realistic and somewhat magical way. The heart always finds love in the strangest and most magical way.
The movie itself is minorly flawed, but I love it so much that I can overlook the little idiosyncrasies. I love everything from the costumes, music and of course, the characters! And the perfectly magical ending! Looking forward to the sequel!!
