A direct to Blu-Ray kinda Pixar. Nothing grand, nothing groundbreaking, similar themes from the past...
You know what I find concerning? You have a bunch of talented people, wanna-be directors which worked with Pete Doctor, Brad Bird, Lasseter, Stanton, etc. The first golden wave from Pixar. Where are these talented people that should've come next? Have they learned nothing from the greats?
I dunno, something I think limited technology made you want to push the limit and compensate with a great story. Now, we have stories that look great but lack in depth. Form over substance.

I was not on the edge of my seat. I was standing, headphones blaring, pumping my fists, 50 cm from the screen. I would've been yelling but my kid is sleeping in the next room - nothing I could've done at the cinema.
Safe to say Mission Impossible turned into a series I will rewatch over and over again. Just like many others.
Masterclass in editing. That "blink of an eye" scene, you knew it was coming, and it still floored me.
The glowing little suitcase and Ving Rhames in the same movie yet again.
Tom Cruise kissing his own ass is a bit much but I get it. His contribution in cinema is legendary and will never be forgotten.

I always hated what kind of people we were in 2020. Some are still there, can't get over it. In hindsight, things could've been different but if we can turn back time, things would definitely be the same as they were. There was no other way. The fear of death was overwhelming in all.
A cultural reset, a human reset. After that, chaos, of course. Things will settle down eventually but only after a massive Hollywood-type gun fight.
Ari Aster is a director to watch. He already showed it a couple of times. Eddington is uncomfortable to watch, as it should be. Filled with unlikeable characters. Bold in its ideas and execution. The best movie about COVID - after Inside.
The bathroom scene is Phoenix frustrated for showing his private parts yet again and Ari Aster slapping him and saying sorry after while stroking him with care.
