If you are looking to see the General Lee fly, you'll get your money's worth.
If your looking to see the characters you loved on TV, you will be disappointed - BIG TIME! The personalities of several of the characters have been drastically changed. I was extremely disappointed with Roscoe and Bo. If it weren't for the names, you would never have recognized them. In all honesty, I should add that some characters like Uncle Jessie, Daisy and Boss Hogg were true to the original characters, but the ones who were changed were enough to spoil the entire movie.
Perhaps the people who made this film have forgotten that we loved the TV series for its characters. Changing them was a BAD DECISION!!!!!

The movie was as great as the the book it was based upon. I sincerely hope they make the rest of the series into movies as well.
The Work and the Glory has beautifully captured the hopes, fears, and prejudices of that era, and woven them into a fictional account as only Gerald Lund can do.
The entire cast was wonderful, and they couldn't have picked a better actor to play Joseph.
Emotions run high in this film, and you'll find yourself laughing, crying, and wanting to shout for joy.
If you are looking for a great movie with good family values, this one is certainly worth seeing.
