The Jurassic Park/World series gets another reboot. Now because of the climate crisis, humans and dinosaurs no longer co-exist.
Dinosaurs now survive in some islands near the equator.
Martin Krebs, a big pharma executive hires Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johannsen) an ex-military operative to recruit a team to obtain samples from the three largest remaining prehistoric dinosaurs at an island. It could revolutionise a new heart disease treatment.
Paleontologist Dr Henry Loomis is the dinosaur expert. Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali) is the team leader in this top secret mission.
They soon come across a stranded family in the ocean. Their boat was attacked by a sea faring monster.
Once they enter the island, they discover that a lab created mutant dinosaurs.
Writer David Koepp, Spielberg's long time script fixer wrote the screenplay for Jurassic Park. Still a great film.
Jurassic World: Rebirth is distinctly average, rather boring despite the wonderful special effects.
There is a heavy influence of Jaws and Alien in this movie. The annoying family reminded me of the poorly received Jurassic Park III. Really a lazy retread of other movies.

Roland Spear (William Katt) runs a dance studio with Sammy Garrett. However Roland wants to sell up and become a farmer.
This leaves Sammy having a slanging match with Roland.
Dr Sloan rehearses with Roland for a fundraiser for the free hospital and Roland dies. He receives an electric shock from his cane.
Steve Sloan arrests his friend Sammy but Steve's girlfriend Cindy, also a dancer becomes a suspect as well.
It was good to see Katt and Dick Van Dyke dancing together. There was certainly some silliness in the investigation. The irate dad with his daughter who is an exotic dancer seemed an odd fit.

The murder has aroused press interest and Lottie revels in it. When she talks about the incident to friend Blanche, it becomes clear that Lottie might be a fantasist.
She disliked Clara Nash who she regarded as a floozie and was infatuated with her older husband.
It might be Lottie is covering up for something or someone.
It was well acted but for a long time it was frivolous. You know where it is going when a certain person later shows up.
