After The Happening (2008) and The Last Airbender (2010), I conclude that Shyamalan has issues directing a movie and articulating his thoughts. I encourage everyone to take a leap of faith and go watch Devil in the cinemas. This film is NOT directed by Shyamalan. This film is based on Shyamalan's story. Therefore, the movie is actually great!
Without giving away spoilers, the movie starts upside down for a reason. Throughout the movie, the twists and story angles fit in piece by piece as the movie slowly comes to an end. Initially I was skeptical how the movie can remain entertaining with 5 people inside a lift.
I hope Shyamalan will stick to writing great stories, then find a director to transplant the words into a reel.
Devil is the first movie of a trilogy actually.
