The first season of Squid Game surprised the world as one of the best TV-series to be produced in the 2020s.
While the plot of Squid Game has elements that vaguely reminded me of horror classics like "Hostel" and "Battle Royale", Squid Game stood out with its gorgeous and somewhat surreal aesthetics and its use of child's play as inspiration. It also managed to balance drama, tension and humor remarkably well, making it perfect for a bingeing session.
Season 2 teased viewers several times, trying to trick us into thinking it was not just a repeat of season 1 but worse. But, really, it was mostly just that, except stretched twice as long and then cut in two.
Season 3 gave us the second part of what really should have been a single season, and by the time I reached the end, I was glad it was finally over.
It didn't help that, by the end, multiple characters kept making stupid decisions you could see coming from miles ahead, or that the VIPs still couldn't act.
It's a pity that a series that started so strong ended up to be mediocre at best. I've have given Squid Game a solid 8/10 if it had stuck to just one season. Now I can't give it more than a 6/10.

I very much wanted to like this series, since on paper the theme is perfect for me : a neurodiverse person as a main character working for the shadow government.
Unfortunately this series is very shallow and painfully unfunny. I managed to sit through both seasons, and I found myself laughing exactly once.
Most of the "humor" in this series involves making fun of the paperthin stereotypes that are passed off as characters, or "jokes" about sex and male genitalia.

Dune is a great start of a multi-part story. But in my opinion, it fails to impress as a standalone movie. After an early climax, the movie's pacing slows down to a point where I started losing interest, only for the movie to end just when it was starting to get interesting again... which IMO was a missed opportunity.
I also think the movie would have been better had less screentime been spent on the rather repetitive vision / dream sequences of Paul and more screentime been spent on exploring the motivations, strategy & "culture" of the Harkonnen. Those vision / dream sequences add little of value to the story, really, and just drag out the pacing. Meanwhile, the Harkonnen haven't been nearly fleshed out enough to be convincing as the evil, depraved, hyperrich "supervillains" they're supposed to be.
