This was a very good episode of this mostly excellent series. The storyline twists and turns and the casting is excellent except for one role that I think detracted from the potential impact. The scenery doesn't play as large a role in this show as it does in the others, but there are some very nice, old houses shown.
The relationship between the main character (lawyer & cop!) and her mother (initial suspect) is complex, both constructive and destructive. The third lead is played by Agathe Bonitzer, a woman with a most intriguing presence. I can't even decide if she's beautiful or plain. She seems even outside those boundaries!
I usually watch this show on a streaming service called Hoopla which shows many of the MhZ network shows. It is a service you get through your public library and watch on a Roku or on your computer. Ask at your library if they have the service. However, this episode was from the group missing from Hoopla and I was able to get it from Target on DVD. It is Set 3. It is expensive, but has about 22 episodes.
Another fantastic show I watched on Hoopla was Captain Marleau. Please ignore the goofy art they put on the show title!

This was an excellent episode of this mostly fantastic series! Although I will go on to praise the cast and the writing, the scenery gets first mention here. Why can't we all live in a world that beautiful?
The buildings and scenery are similar to the area shown in the excellent "The Best Of Us". If Google maps has directed me right, Bonneval-sur-Arc is about 2 hours' drive from Haute-Savoie.
The mystery is excellent, really puzzling. There are many twists here and the detectives, siblings, get under each other's skin at every turn. I'll just repeat that this is a great episode, although it was emotionally wringing. Watch it when you are prepared for that.

This was a fantastic episode! The two leads were great and played off each other beautifully. Even the minor characters were interesting, fun and well written. The main plot was well written, but so were the minor plots! And there was more humor than usual, in addition to the serious mystery.
The plot concerns several layers of mysteries going back almost a century.
The scenery is not so much a feature in this episode as in others, as most of it takes place on farms. However, there are some marvelous interiors!
