I am a 14 year old living in a world where the American Dream is all about the times. The latest fashion, the newest music. My parents were in their early teens during the 60's, living in a world with Vietnam, and the industries. My mom was the oldest of 5 daughters living on the farm. My dad, the youngest of 2 boys living in a military family in the city. But there is one thing that they both could relate to. The American Dream.

American Dreams brings back that dream with such amazing reality. My parents remember American Bandstand and the artists that performed there. They remember the events happening in the world, and remember what it was like to live during that time. It's like a part of my parent's history, is being brought into my home for me to share with them. I get to understand what their lives were like, and get to know them a little bit better. This show is extremely well written and I will watch this show until it is taken off the air. I watch it with my father, as our Sunday night tradition, milkshake in hand. Sharing memories with my father on these Sunday nights, will become a memory that I will share with my children in the future. A show for the generations to share, American Dreams is helping my parents re-live memories, and helping me form my own.

I originally started watching this show because I am a fan of 'JAG' and 'Everwood.' I heard that Steven Culp ('JAG') and Marcia Cross ('Everwood') would be paired together, so I thought, I'll give it a try. So that Sunday night, I turned the TV on, and sat down with my dad in the living room. We watched 'American Dreams' (as is our ritual) and then I switched the channel. My dad and I are hooked! We made it part of our Sunday night routine (my dad works nights, so I only see him on weekends. We watch TV together then.) My mom refuses to let us watch in the living room..(PURE SMUT! she says) This show is hilarious. The characters are witty and funny, and a little dark. Not to mention that there are HOTT guys all up in here! lol. So on Sunday nights, with a chocolate milkshake in hand, I will be faithfully watching this show until ABC stupidly cancels it. The End...for now

I was 5 years old when this show came out. As I got older, I was opened up to the world of planes, law and the military, because my parents watched it every week. I never liked it, because I didn't understand it.

Two years ago, during a very difficult, trying, sad time in my life, I discovered this show again, just before the start of the ninth season. I threw myself into the plot lines, sexual tension, action, adventure and the very juicy David James Elliott. I became hooked, my parents and friends call it an absolute obsession, but it's great anyway. If Harm and Mac don't get together, I'll cry. The introduction of Mattie Grace was a welcome one, because she really opened Harm up and got him to admit the truth about his feelings for his partner. Her departure was bittersweet. She brought a lot to the show, and I'm sad to see her go, but maybe it's for the best. I cried during their final scene together. This show is wonderfully, although slightly predictable, written, and the day it ends will probably kill me...joking! I am now 14 years old, considerably wiser...although still I have a lot to learn. But now that I am no longer a 5 year old who doesn't understand, I realize that this show is a gem, hidden in a pile of crap...and so I sign off with this advice... WATCH THE FREAKING SHOW...OR YOU'LL BE SORRY!!! :)

Mac: Well, I do have a tattoo; I'm a pretty good arm wrestling; and, although, I don't like the term, I am, technically, a jar head. Harm: Whoa, whoa, whoa…back up. You have a tattoo? How come I've never seen it? Where would one find this tattoo? Mac: I'm afraid that's classified information, Commander!
