The Founder is as solid of a docudrama I've seen in a long time. The set pieces, the acting, the story, are all wonderful. The pacing was really nice and didn't leave me bored once. One of the few complaints I could possibly have is that I wasn't sure how much time had elapsed in certain parts of the movie. Don't believe the incredibly low score for a movie of this caliber and treat yourself to the best movie I've seen so far in 2017.
Okay, so it's not very original, but the director clearly stole the premise of School of Rock which happens to be a favorite of mine since I am a guitar player of 28 years. The best way I can put this movie into perspective is that it is School of Rock with rock and roll replaced by sex education. The kids were great, Hayley Joel Osmant was great, the supporting adults were great, just a great movie. I gave it 7/10 but that's a really strong 7/10. I rarely write reviews...mainly because I suck at writing them, but this is a good movie and don't believe the naysayers. I was thoroughly entertained and it was also fascinating to see HJO in a role other than the "creepy-kid". Best movie ever?.....certainly not. Boring?.....certainly not. Give it a chance. I loved it and the bad reviews are just snobby know-it-alls.
What can I say? Donnie Yen has made a fan out of me. Yes, he was in Iron Monkey. This movie started out with the fight scenes being mediocre and all of a sudden the film reeled off one killer fight scene after another. This movie is a classic and any Kung Fu fan should see this. I was only the 39th person to vote on this. That surprised me because this movie is awesome. Musa the Warrior was a killer movie as well. I look for top quality fighting and this movie does the trick. Oh yeah, the plot of the movie is about stopping the distribution of Opium. My brother rented this at Blockbuster and I was skeptical until I saw Donnie Yen's name. I give this movie a 10/10 as far as Kung Fu is concerned!!!!
