2 stars for the acting but even then it can only take a film so far. I do not usually enjoy horrors, when the first smile came out i begged my friends to watch it as a scary day out and a once in a lifetime experience. It definitely lived up and did exactly what we wanted. We jumped, we held hands, we threatened to leave. Having gone through all that i soon became a horror junkie, so when smile 2 was announced i couldnt believe my luck. What could go wrong? Theres an excellent story to follow and so much to touch on...except......that never happened ??? This film instead decided to be almost identical to the first one without the added thrill of her trying to find out what is actually going on. Womans gets possessed - check. Woman goes crazy - check. Woman does detective work and tries to figure out whats going on - uncheck. It was so bland and boring. No jump scares and awful gore. The main performance was good enough but unfortunately thats all this has to offer.

Like i said...watch for the experience, especially if you suffer from fomo. However, do not !! And i repeat do not !!! Expect the amazing film that all other reviewers are banging on about. It starts off well enough, and in fact, it has potential but the ridiculous gore and body horror nonsense just completely takes away from the message that its going for. The last 40 minutes were just so pointless its almost a joke. I think the director was trolling the audience at that point and just seeing who was foolish enough to stay till the end. Unfortunately, i was. I dont regret watching it because i can go around and take part in all the talk, however honestly i would have been better off not watching it at all.
