Watched this without any expectation or prep, just knowing Linda Hamilton was in this.
I'm reviewing this trying my best without spoiling key elements for you, yet inform you on what I liked & thought about this experience.
I liked the intro and setup, and the mystery suspense of the story progression/revelations.
I loved the sound and turned the volume up for this one.
But you'll have to be in the mood for non-stop action, hearing/enjoying sound of gunfights, as its a survival stay alive "where are we, prison" type of movie, with bullets flying from start till end.
Linda Hamilton also had a decent proper role, glad to enjoy her performance once again.
The deaths in this movie were satisfying ok And movie had a good ending.
Familiar concepts of other movies were present, but properly twisted original enough imho.
If it were a 80's/90's/00's movie, or watched by inexperienced viewers of sci-fi movies, it would've been great.
However I think I was a little too experienced of having seen it all, to be surprised by this movie in 2025.
I just enjoyed the art, work & story well.

I've just seen this one today for the first time., july 24th 2025.
I'm surprised that this movie never hit my radar, and that I missed on it till now.
And watched without any expectations or knowing its casting, so was pleasant to see so many notable good actors being cast in this.
The movie plot & suspense is good, and excels in the manner of speech dialogues and acting performance for me.
Tchéky Karyo, the familiar french accented actor was just great in this. Very commanding confidence tone and probably playing the most witty character in this. Loved his performance in this, nailed/embodied the character right I think.
Jürgen Prochnow solid performance, reminds of his acting perf. In judge dredd, with his voice & tone commanding scenes, raising his voice in this movie.
David Suchet also an familiar face & great articulation of dialogue and acting. Tho the character he plays was a bit slow in responses for my taste, but I'll slide that annoyance to the directing & confines of his character lol
Saffron Burrows performance of Lt. Angel, as the commanding yet sensual woman officer, was also very likeable as a character. The eye contact and facial impressions were nice. I easily developed a slight crush/liking during this movie.
It's not an "star wars" "fifth element" grand commercial tale, but more comparable in dialogue to "enemy mine", "dune" and "starship troopers" playful attitude in some scenes. Watching it with an mindset fun vibe was enjoyable throughout. With moments of laughter with some scenes and commenting with friends I was watching with.
And I enjoyed this better than lot of recent movie releases. So definitely adding this to my collection as an "under rated jewel" based on the casting and their performances.
I've just read other negative reviews here now, and I find it bit weird honestly, especially with the quality cast & acting perf. In this.
I didn't know this would have any video game reference, or would've been compared with major franchise successes.
