Leif Eriksson (played by Sam Corlett) had that stoic depth with a soft edge, like a reluctant legend in the making. Freydís (Frida Gustavsson) brought fire and conviction without being overdone - real shieldmaiden energy. And Harald Sigurdsson? That dude (Leo Suter) walked in like he was born to be a king - you believe him even before the crown touches his head.
It's like the casting directors said: "We want people who look like they could burn down a village and recite poetry afterward."
The chemistry helped too - no one felt out of place, even among different cultures (Pagans, Christians, Saxons, etc.). It gave that layered, lived-in feel. Even the villains had presence.
Honestly, they understood the assignment: History with heart. Action with identity. Style with soul.

As someone who knows nothing about the video game I enjoyed this movie.
It seems many haters compare it to the game, but that usually happens - that Hollywood changes the source material for all kinds of reasons. Personally, when I go watch a movie, I expect to be entertained; and that it not be total garbage.
No it was not, and I was already wondering about a possible sequel.
There is more than enough to continue the story line from what happened in this movie; especially with things that took place. It would be silly not to.
To all the haters: Get over it.
All in all, I was thoroughly entertained.

This is one of those movies you just need to enjoy the piss out of. I knew going into this, it's not The Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, or other Oscar winner; but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Conor McGregor was a great psycho - though he needs some vocal training, make him more resonant. But it looked like he had fun in that role ;)
The music was good, the scenery was great, never been to The Keys, but after this I might actually go there. Anyway, more like this please ;)
Switch off your mind, maybe see the first Road House with Patrick Swayze first, then expect to be entertained: Go see it.
